Doing F2P wrong? why wrong?
PS2 is the best example of almost perfect F2P (free to play) model imo.

1st of all the title of the video is 'Doing F2P wrong', PS2 is one of the better examples of this business model, but there is always room for improvement. Not to speak about lately game stability (client and server side) or the "upgrade now" topic...

From my point of view PS2 isn't all that great of an F2P title since I don't have any real incentive or wish to spend money on it.

Yea I would rank PS2 into the "good" group of F2P models. The standard weapons are very good but it's also a joy to throw money at them for new weapons or camos or little burning skulls for your (past) harasser ;)
The only thing which sucks is
UPGRADE NOW!!

This really upsets me, I'm not a player who likes to spend money on a regular base (monthly subscriptions) but I do spent money in the ingame shop (a lot!). But I still get bombarded with ads.
It feels like they don't give a fuck about you and the fact that you are already throwing money in their throat unless you subscribe.

The upgrade now button is being blown out of proportion, yes its launch was poorly done and the notification add was an entirley bad idea but there is nothing forcing you to click the upgrade now button and if you don't want to you aren't in any worse of a position than if you had and that is an indication of a good F2P model
