Are the servers kinda bogus today?
If not, here is my story:
I've been playing PS2 since beta, I have played a lot of MP shooters before, including PS1.
I was an active member of PS2 (I paid) till yesterday. That's when they went political.
Support some US of Holy A foundation with Station Cash. I am not accepting that. I am not a political gamer. My in-game target is prey, and political factors don't count. In Real Life I am a pacifist. I denied Military Service, did Social Service instead. So I quit my membership yesterday. I had to, like some people become vegetarians, which I am not :).
Today, since my unsubscription became valid, the game is virtually not playable anymore. It shows no more squads at all, doesn't let me use terminals and kicks me off Miller after 2 Minutes of game time. It is not playable. I have heard horror stories about SOE, now I am experiencing them. I am not willing to give in and renew my subscription under these circumstances and am unhappily looking forward to never ever getting back into this game.

Network connection to EU servers are bugged for some, inc me.
The experience is a glorious mix of loading stopping at 98%, or if you do get in, unresponsive terminals and/or sudden dc.
This happens for me on all EU servers, US works just fine.

Possible fix for Miller:
update your host file with the ip to Miller server
69.174.194.166 amspsn-liv-gw02.planetside2.com

I can now get into Miller just fine, the other EU servers are still borked as I do not have their ip address.
In my view this shows that there is a network device somewhere between some of us and the datacenter (or maybe in the datacenter) that is borked.

You may want to read any political statements in that as you like if it makes you feel better, I read it as "something went wrong on Friday, techies are back on Monday", where ever that tech problem might be.

EDIT #1: Blast, that fix stopped working this evening. Oh well.
EDIT #2: Removed ip from host file, rebooted my router. I can now log in to Miller.

Re:Re: Experiences of an unsubscriber

Dont believe this is anything to do with being a subscriber as i never have been and miller has played great for me.

Nah, just the EU server hamsters needing to be replaced. I've experienced the same and seen other EU players complain about the same.
Hopefully tomorrow's maintenance will fix it for the time being.

I am not reading any political statement into my unability to enjoy the game anymore. I just wanted to clarify why I unsubscribed.
But the difference of absolutely fine playability while subscribed to absolutely un-fucking-playable the next day after cancelling the subscription is a bit suspicious to me, to say the least. I have been a memeber since the start, November 2012. I paid 2 six months abos. Now I quit and instantly it becomes unplayable. Fuck that SOE. And I didn't pay to Pro7, I paid to SOE directly, old member deal.

I am positively surprised as I am able to play without any problems again.
I didn't change anything on my end, still playing free, but it works fine now.
Solod yesterday evening as a test phase and no problems at all. Glad to call in back for duty.
