Hi Kuran,

I recently went through the same thing and did a bunch of research prior to buying a new PC to play PS2.

Further to the mumble-chat last night, dug these links out:

Graphics Cards:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/2012-vga-gpgpu/01-3DMark11-B-Performance,2932.html

Processors:

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

The system you posted will certainly run PS2 fine. JoCool's right that the weakest link is the GPU - the processer you list is previous generation but still very potent. The Radeon graphics card is current but budget....I do still think you may find it runs PS2 well enough to hold off spending £200 on a GTX 660 or 670 immediately. The 'purchase thru' work' schemes are often good value as I believe you get tax benefits.....do you mind me asking what is the total cost of that system? You *might* be better off buying elsewhere and taking alternative finance.

Just over a thousand pounds, with £37 monthly installments, my mom got hers via the same methods and said she'd be fine doing it for me.

The card I got in my current is NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 which is also an upgrade but I couldn't put in any bigger because I didn't have the space, would this be worth replacing the radeon with?

I believe the HD7770 is probably better than the GTS450 - take a look at the GPU link I posted above.

£1000 is decent value for that system to be honest.

Alternatively, http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?brandid=1&c=uk&cs=ukdfh1&l=en&s=dfh are often excellent value. The list of available machines changes several times per day - often see some superb prices for Aurura R4's.
