Certificates are more secure than passwords — people can't connect to a server and impersonate you unless they acquire your private certificate, which is stored locally on your computer. Server administrators can assign fine-grained permissions to specific certificates, and you can even use your certificate to reserve a username on a server.
If you export your certificate, you can then import the certificate in mumble and keep your mumble privileges such as your username, rights on the mumble server. Without having to go to the trouble of been re-registered on the server again. You can also use the same certificate on another PC such as a desktop or laptop.
How to Export a Certificate Guide
1. Start-up mumble.
2. Click on "Configure".
3. Click on "Certificate Wizard".
4. Tick the Export Current Certificate tick box and click "Next".
5. Save the certificate and save it to your desktop.
