Need help with PC build - Newb

Hey guys, I miss having a PC and playing with you lot so I'm going to get myself sorted with one and I need your help.

I've started to read up on what I can but atm I still know very little about hardware, what's best to get for my budget, where to buy them from, and when are the best times to buy them to make most of my money (before or after crimbo/new year, etc). I'm looking for my PC to be ready for March/April

My budget is £1800 and I can always up it a bit more a few months down the line if I need to.

EDIT: I am looking for a gaming PC that will smoothly run Planetside at high graphics, and something that will be capable of running Star Citizen decently as well

Sorry forgot to add that, it would be for Planetside yes, but I'm also hoping to have something that will be ready for Star Citizen, which might seem a bit tricky being ready for a game that isn't going to be out for a while

8600/8700K will give you the best fps in Planetside - the verdict isn't in for Star Citizen as it currently runs like crap and we simply don't know anything about the future of it.

Also i didn't know if you need other things like a case, monitor, keyboard, mouse, SSD, etc

You should be able to build a beefy pc with 1800gbp

AMD will be releasing a new Ryzen CPU series 3000 soon. I can throw together a list of parts on pcpartpicker if you wish, intel and amd.

I built AMD Ryzen 2600x recently, it dead smooth to use and decent fps, my GPU is a Nvidia 1060gtx. but get a solid 70-80 fps in big fights and high settings.

Yeah I'd wait for AMD to release their new GPU and CPU's first, especially since the Ryzen 3000 series probably are not compatible with the same motherboards as the current gen.

Intel is also about to release some new stuff.

But they always are so I guess it depends on how urgent your needs are.

The great thing about AMD is that they are backward compatible for 2 generations of CPU unlike Intel

@DeltaWidow It's a rough list. there is a lot of room for improvements, I would use an m2 SSD (512gb), I couldn't find the parts I wanted for the list.
