Outfit Training

Before I start I want to say how much I appreciate what the Leaders/PL/SL's are doing and trying to do with the outfit as organising 300+ blokes is no mean feat and the time / effort will always go un noticed by the most.

I love Outfit training because its the 1 time where you know Teamwork is the focus compared to in the day time where its a little bit of a FFA aslong as your playing the objective which I guess is also cool since people don't wanna play too serious and have the time to do the things they want to do. But I am getting a little frustrated with the huge gap between outfit what we practice and what we actually do.

For me the outfit training on Tuesday went a little sideways as we started focusing on the nitty gritty of breaching a doorway rather than the basic objective (worrying about the order in who goes left/right isn't really the talking point, what should be is the the next person goes the opposite way.. that is how CQB is done and IBT is perfected not what some REMF has done/seen.

I myself am a little unsure as to what the outfit is about (hardocre/casual etc) as some times we seem very serious regarding coms and others it pretty much is a FFA. I suppose its to manage my expectations as I don't wanna be the grumpy cunt upsetting peeps. but equally I do get annoyed when I hear comments about clearing coms/playing the objective when then 2 seconds latter there's a discussion about a completely non related topic e.g dog porn and then movement that doesn't really support what was previously said is the objective being played.

I guess what im really getting at is can either the Leaders/officers in the daytime either relax a little as to how we play the game/objectives/conts in the day or can we try and stick a little more to what were "learning" during outfit training time.

Sorry if I have rambled etc and I hope im not the only one who has noticed this or I will happily get back in my box and stfu :p xx

I have noticed this a while aggo, the leaders seem to have forgotten the key words" command break" (and also battle comms even tough that used to be the "command break" for the lower ranking to anounce an important fact tabout battle (eg a 12/12 gal incomming))

We should have something like the leader anouncing "we put our war face on from now on"

yeh perhaps, I don't wanna be negative cuz it is a very hard job to balance "fun" and "rant" equally you don't wanna be scaring off people who just wanna enjoy themselves with a good group of people, but its almost to a point where a Platoon can have anything upto 10SL/PL's in one platoon so naturally everyones a leader comes into play so stuff starts to get drowned out, I don't think there is a magic wand scenario otherwise I would of happened by now, maybe just an awareness of the situation

We got new Squad and platoon leaders that need drilling and that takes time. I don't remember if you were there on Esamir when I had Reaper 1 with Fisheye riding shotgun, but we managed to break the Vanu attack on Jeager's Crossing with a hard counter attack out of Warpgate with tanks. I needed a bit of PL training and Fisheye did a hell of a good job supporting me with advice and having Bravo ready.

I love when DNArip or Dotz0r is in overall command because its very clear how we are going to do X to counter Y. We need more people of that caliber and it requires training and experince.

Our leaders haven't forgotten battle comms. Atleast not when I have played.
Problem is more that grunts totally neglect it, last nights Indar alert was a perfect example. We hade Pure, Hitman and Stubek telling the grunts to more or less shut it. But many (not all) had totally lost their mind about the new updates and it had to be discussed during this Alert wich we should have battle comms on. As everyone should know by now.

Sadly I wasn't there, Although I do agree with what you said, like I said before I don't want to be critical cuz its not someones fault and I don't want to discourage anyone cuz were all here to learn/have fun. Everyone has their own leadership style and equally I do enjoy a PL led by rip/dot. maybe its because theyre given the respect of others so coms is more sensible, which would mean maybe us grunts need to maybe not come across so casual when other Leaders are running the show x

Balancing between serious, shut the f*ck up, tacticomms and let's-have-a-laugh play will always be a challenge. Don't expect this to ever be 100% clear or solved.

People get carried away, especially when a new, important game play changing update like GU9 just got released as was the case yesterday.

Even tough alerts should be battle coms i tend to be flexible at least in first hour and especially when i aint in charge (Purestorm was doing usual good job). That sometimes end up in cacophony of random bullshit spewing and competition in who can talk more. When i sense that moment coming i will scream a bit until it is possible to continue usual comms like i did yesterday. That doesn't mean i hate you or that i wanna ruin your fun. Its just retaking channel and returning primary function to it. I hope no one will get offended but it is what it is.

Once again, if you are not asked by SL/PL for advice, please try to keep it for yourself and do not do backseat driving. I tend to do it at times as well and im trying to control it. I hope rest of you will too.

Also we have to learn to discern important from unimportant information's. Too often i hear stuff like i think i have seen scyte when that scyte is flying away from our base 78921486 miles away, or there is one guy running towards... when he is not even remotely capable of being dangerous or achieve something.
