To celebrate the 1 million:th Star Citizen, you don't have to pay extra to get access to modules anymore.

I.E. Even though the upcoming PU update is part of Alpha you will be able to access it even if you only had Beta access.

"Dedicated Alpha and Beta Access is going away." looks like beta is disapearing as well also now the cheapest package you can play with is now $42 or less.

You can test all the single-seated ships for free, just make an account.

Very important information: If you want to get into both the MMO side of Star Citizen and the campaign (Squadron 42), I would recommend getting a package before 31 January 2016.

In the Holiday Livestream, they said that this year would be the last time you can get both the MMO and the campaign in one package for 30 dollars. Some people on Reddit are wondering if that also affects other packages, such as the normal Aurora package that is 45 dollars. It wasn't implicitly stated on the stream, but it's possible since there is an identical 45 dollar Aurora package called the Squadron 42 Preorder package.

Don't expect this to affect the higher cost packages; the ones that give you different ships to the Aurora/Mustang.

So TL;DR: After 31 January 2016, you will not be able to ever get both PU and SQ42 in one package for 30 dollars again, but it might POSSIBLY affect the other low-cost packages, such as the 45 dollar Aurora Package.

I have created my RSI as CosmicWinter, but I can't join BRTD due to I don't have game package.

I would recommend getting a package before the 14th, since at that point you won't be able to get both the MMO and the single player mode (Squadron 42) in the cheapest package.

Edited the OP to mention that the starter packages no longer include Squadron 42 by default and that you will need to buy an addon to get SQ42 with your package.

Also added a disclaimer about price changes with these packages, which is of importance to Europeans in particular as you have to pay VAT in addition to the base cost.

Yes, expect 3.0 to be released to Live sometime before the Christmas holidays.

Thanks for bumping the thread, I will update the OP now since 3.0 offers more content than previous patches.
